John Thomas 14th Regiment
A very interesting article from the Diary and other documents of Private John Thomas, 14th Regiment who marched around Mt. Egmont with General Trevor Chute in 1866, with details of the food running out and the horses being killed, with the heart saved for the General.

The Royal Navy in the Baltic and Black sea 1853 - 1856 Re-visited, with the spelling of two locations corrected.
Details of HMS Curacoa, Miranda, and Niger have now been completed, and the concludes all the Royal Navy Ships which took part in the NZ wars 1845 - 1866.
British Regiments and Royal Navy Articles
The articles on the British Regiments which served in New Zealand during 1840 – 1870 have now been completed (collection here), together with a detailed list of 115 recorded letters either sent from or to Quartermaster Robert Laver, 12th Regiment.
Royal Navy Ships Articles
Details of HMS Esk, Brisk, Eclipse, Falcon and Harrier have also been completed.
Still being prepared HMS Miranda, this will include the Ship’s Logs etc... Please do not hesitate forwarding details of any surviving covers. Seamen’s letters are far scarcer than Soldiers letters.
