Like many New Zealand Collectors, I am looking forward to the forthcoming FIAP International Exhibition NZ 2020, which is being held at Auckland in March 2020. As Patron of the Exhibition, I have of course a special interest, especially as I was actively involved with the two previous exhibitions, Zeapex 1980 & NZ 1990. Exhibitions are not just about stamps but more importantly about people and it is an opportunity to see numerous dealers and meet many old and new collectors. The link is https://www.nz2020.nz
Whilst unlike most Historians, we tend to only research material that we have been fortunate enough to acquire. This then is an opportunity to share such information with those of us with limited means, which includes me.
Research, basically involves time, and for the retired, time is priceless.
I am looking forward to this opportunity to share my knowledge, but even more importantly, receiving new information to expand my own understanding of items that have never been recorded.
2009 marked the beginning of new and extended criteria for exhibiting Social Postal History, as one of the original instigators of Social Philately; I look forward to the progress that should now follow, in making the covers and letters from the past come alive.
I look forward to your questions, and trust that the answers that hopefully will be forthcoming will help us all.
